Pet Appreciation Week 2022 is June 5th through June 11th, and in our humble opinion, it is one of the single greatest weeks of the year! We’ll be honest, we feel like every week is Pet Appreciation Week here at Cuddle Clones. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t live to celebrate pets and the joy, love, and companionship they bring into our lives. However, when this wonderful time of year rolls around, we want to celebrate it for the special occasion it is! 

That’s why in honor of Pet Appreciation Week, we are bringing you not one, not two, but THREE Shelter Spotlights. What makes these spotlights so special is these are the most highly nominated shelters from our list. 

A portion of each and every purchase goes to benefit animal shelters, pet rescues, and humane societies all around the country, and every single organization we support is nominated by our customers. Introducing Kitty Up Cat Rescue 

Considering that Pet Appreciation Week falls smack dab in the middle of National Adopt a Cat Month, we felt it only appropriate that we celebrate both in equal measure! That’s why our first Shelter Spotlight is shining on Kitty Up Cat Rescue. This Dallas, GA based nonprofit performs the admirable work of finding forever homes for the neglected and unwanted cats in their area.

Kitty Up Cat Rescue’s founder, Malissa Birchall, has loved animals since childhood. Her father would regularly take in and care for stray cats, keeping them safe from the elements, providing for their basic needs, and helping to control the pet population at the same time. This simple act imparted a powerful message on Malissa, “a little kindness goes a long way”.

Over a dozen nominations poured in for Kitty Up Cat Rescue, and we were so moved by the messages we read:

“They help so many cats , kittens and bottle babies in our area and are one of the biggest reasons our county is no kill. Hardest working group that never takes a day off” — S.C.

“They are an amazing support not only to homeless pets, but do everything in their power to ensure they’re impacting the community directly! They have never turned down a pet that they can help and they never cease to amaze me!” – A.P.

“Since starting in 2019 they have made such a huge impact in saving the lives of so many kitties in GA, they help the local community with their food pantry and they do many transports, allowing them to save even more lives. They pull from the kill shelters as often as they possibly can and the staff work tirelessly to provide for all these fur babies” – J.H.

All we can say is: WOW! It’s clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that these incredible folks are making a true difference in their community. We are proud to be able to support their mission, and it’s all thanks to our amazing community!
