Jennifer Meets an Unexpected Kindred Spirit

Louisville, KY – Aug. 2010 – Still working as an actuary, and newly enrolled in the Entrepreneurship MBA program at the University of Louisville, Jennifer Williams joined a team of other inspiring entrepreneurs including eventual Co-Founder Adam Greene. As part of the program, each student was required to present their top two business ideas. Jennifer actually brought around 50 business ideas to the table, but in the end, it was Cuddle Clones that she championed the most, and the one that ultimately gained the most traction with her team, and especially with Adam.

Upon hearing Jennifer’s pitch, Adam recalls saying “I always had pets growing up and the thought of having a pet in some tangible form even when the pet can’t be with you, I think would resonate with any pet owner.”

Over the next two years Jennifer, Adam, and their team would conduct tons of industry analysis, write business plans, and develop prototypes all while competing in business plan competitions hosted by several major universities. The Cuddle Clones team even won first place in multiple competitions earning around $50,000 in funding that they could put towards making the idea of Cuddle Clones a reality upon graduation.

Then when graduation day arrived Jennifer and Adam, who had bonded over their love of pets and a shared entrepreneurial vision, found themselves as the only remaining members of their MBA team interested in moving forward with bringing the concept to fruition. It was on that day that Cuddle Clones was really born, and the two stepped out on their own, quitting their full-time jobs to concentrate solely on Cuddle Clones.
