December 2020 Shelter Donations

CUDDLE CLONES JUST DONATED 96,255 MEALS TO SHELTER ANIMALS!

In this time of great need in our country and the world, we are reaching out to do what we can to fill a bit of that need with hope. Shelters across the country are experiencing high pet surrender rates as families struggle to find the resources to properly care for their pets. In a bid to be able to do something to help the struggling shelters during this pandemic, we have set up a campaign to provide customers with masks and shelters with meals.

During this holiday season, launching new products like our Custom Pet Facemask gives us an opportunity to offer cute and fun mask options to people while also being able to provide help to shelters. This campaign is set up to make sure that a portion of each and every mask purchased is donated to a shelter to be used in providing them with much-needed meals.

Connecting with the community, we are taking recommendations for shelters that are in the most need right now. If you know of a shelter that could really use the help during this pandemic, please email your recommendation to blog@cuddleclones.com.

The shelters that have been donated to for the Month of December are:

One of this month’s shelters we are donating to is Long Way Home Adoptables located in Bryan, Texas. Long Way Home Adoptables is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization saving animals regardless of age, health, or species. Some may be healthy pets in an over-capacity shelter, some may need serious veterinary care, some are pregnant, and others may be animals used for medical experiments or sold for meat slaughter overseas. They really do see it all!

One of the things that makes Long Way Home Adoptables unique is their Out of State Adoption Program. Even if you live outside of Texas, you can still adopt an animal from their program. The majority of their adopters are not local to the area. Some families cash in their frequent flyer miles and come in, since some of their pets are small enough to bring on board as a carry-on. Some families drive in from other states or other parts of Texas. They also offer an all-inclusive transport fee of $200 on top of the adoption fee. This fee includes the pet’s plane ticket or ground travel ticket, flight fees, travel crate, and the USDA required health certificate and exam proving that your pet is healthy enough for interstate travel and carrying no zoonotic parasites or infections.

Their foster-based volunteer rescue runs exclusively on public donations and would love your support. If you would also like to donate to Long Way Home Adoptables, please consider donating to support their mission. They really do amazing things for animals!

We also donated to our recurring shelter partner The Arrow Fund.

A private donation was made through their websites. At their current factor of money to meals, the total is 96,255 meals for shelter pets! We are especially thankful for the people who sent in their nominations, helping them better connect to communities across the country.

Please continue sending in your nominations for the coming months as we stand together to battle the effects of this deadly virus on our country, its people, and their pets. A portion of mask sales will continue to be donated for as long as mask supplies last so be sure to order yours soon.

Make sure to also check out last month’s blog for more information on the shelters we donate to.
